Earth's population is rising to unprecedented levels and it gets more and more difficult to provide housing and other enclosed spaces for that many people.Cities of today are built in line with those difficulties while trying to shape the future of humankind. Considering those remarks; İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality and İstanbul Planning Agency co-created Designing the Future event in order to produce realistic future predictions for cities of tomorrow that has to meet with problems we create today such as climate crisis, durability, technological challenges, accessibility, and democratic urban management.
Assistant Professor Barış Gençer Baykan from Public Administration Department was the moderator of the first module of this event titled "Climate Crisis - Durable Cities" that took place in 21st of September 2021.
