The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in other words the Global Goals, are a universal call to action within the framework of 17 goals. The aim of the Yeditepe University Design and Upcycling (YUDU) Laboratory which was established within the scope of Yeditepe University Research Project is to recycle the plastic wastes on the university campus in line with these goals targeting the year 2030 and within the scope of zero waste and sustainability studies of Yeditepe University initiated in our country.
Yeditepe University Design and Upcycling (YUDU) Laboratory consists of a machine park for the recycling of plastics. YUDU Laboratory was established by the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Industrial Design on the ground floor of the Faculty of Fine Arts building. The aim of the laboratory is to recycle plastics and to design products with recycled plastics and to realise new designs. You can bring your plastic packaging waste to the plastic waste collection point on the ground floor of the Fine Arts building to be used in the YUDU laboratory, which started operating in the 2022-23 autumn semester.

"Plastic-Free Campus" primarily focuses on reducing and recycling single-use plastics aims to carry out studies. Different types of disposable plastics on the university campus and our primary objective is to eliminate in line with the circular economy and sustainable development goals with a holistic approach is to carry out studies to develop effective solutions.
Yeditepe University Design and Upcycling Laboratory aims to carry out various activities related to reducing the consumption of disposable plastics, using alternative materials and recycling under the leadership of academicians.
